Fischer To Announce Candidacy For SC House District 56

Myrtle Beach, SC – Dr. Bruce Fischer is campaigning to represent District 56 of South Carolina in the State House. He will be challenging Republican incumbent, Tim McGinnis, for the district that stretches from Carolina Forest to Longs.

The formal announcement will be made April 9th, 2019, at the Carolina Forest Library at 2250 Carolina Forest Blvd. Myrtle Beach, SC 29579 during the monthly meeting of Carolina Forest Area Democrats.

Bruce Fischer had enlisted in the Army in 1966. He successfully completed helicopter flight training and was subsequently deployed to Vietnam in 1968, just in time for the Tet Offensive. Upon his return home from overseas, he became a flight instructor, and served until his honorable release from active duty in 1970. Fischer went on to earn his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University. He served the needs of his patients in private practice as well as at several large hospital systems in the state of New York and in South Carolina.

Dr. Bruce Fischer is your Democratic Candidate for South Carolina House District 56. As your representative, his focus will be on many issues affecting our state, including: Education, Healthcare, Sustainable Growth, Infrastructure, the Opiod Epidemic, Discrimination, and Plastic Pollution.
